THE PERSON BEHIND THE PIECES
Hi, I’m Jhanavi.
I've always been drawn to the little things. An interesting doorway, an unexpected colour combination, a detail that most people would probably walk right past. The kind of things that don't necessarily demand attention, but somehow stay with you.
I've always believed there's so much beauty and character in the ordinary, if only we look a little closer. And somewhere along the way, I wanted to turn that thought into something tangible.
That's how the idea of JUNUN began.
I wanted to create clothing that felt expressive, thoughtful, and a little unexpected. Pieces that don't take themselves too seriously but are made with a lot of intention. Something comfortable and familiar, yet with that one little detail that makes you look twice. A way of bringing together everything I love — colours, textures, everyday observations, and the freedom to create something entirely my own.
But the name? Well, that's a slightly different story.
It was around 2 AM, and I was doing what I do best — overthinking. Somewhere between a hundred ideas, a thousand thoughts, and wondering if I'd completely lost my mind trying to build something of my own, I remember thinking, I've actually gone mad.
And then it clicked. JUNUN.
A word that holds a little madness, a little obsession, and a whole lot of passion. The kind that keeps you up at night, makes you notice things others might miss, and convinces you to turn the smallest idea into something real.
It felt almost too fitting.
Because that's really what JUNUN is. A little bit of madness, a lot of curiosity, an unreasonable amount of love for the little things, and the belief that even the most ordinary things can be extraordinary.
JUNUN is still finding its way, growing, experimenting, and collecting stories along the way. And I think that's the most exciting part. There's so much more to explore, create, and share.
So here we are. No grand revelation. Just a 2 AM thought that somehow became a brand.
And if you're going to make something your own, you might as well make it with junun.
